"Established in 1977, the National Women's Studies Association (NWSA) has, as one of its primary objectives, promoting and supporting the production and dissemination of knowledge about women, gender, and sexuality through teaching, learning, research and service in academia and beyond." http://www.nwsa.org
The association is comprised of educators, students, organizers and innovators as members. They work together to promote the importance of a women's studies education, the history of women's contributions to society, and the need to invest in the future of the educational program and its membership.
Future gender studies students should consider becoming members because this is a great network of feminists and it is the perfect place to create collaborations and and be with like-minded professionals.
